HAPPY 2015 the new year begins well enough. i have a slight cold and, like many others, am bemoaning my return to the workplace on monday. i have a new niece, blythe james, who is perfect in all the ways that newborns are. she arrived on the eve of the new year while i was dining with friends at a japanese restaurant in new york city. new york! the city i chose to close out my 2014. having never been to new york, i wanted to experience all of it. i made a valiant effort. of course, there is no amount of days to visit new york wherein you successfully experience what new york is all about. a close friend and i walked many miles up and down those cold & crowded streets. we spent an evening in brooklyn with many new acquaintances. a visit to the guggenheim was the only museum trip we were able to make. we happened upon probably the cutest little french cafe i've ever seen. lots of eating. a few cocktails in places that were much too cool for us. an improv comedy show in a diml...
